i really struggle with browns and grays. when i think of putting them on myself, i cringe, but when is see them on other people, i think they look lovely together. so i stand in my closet and think of putting them on myself again. i vote yes. also, i just saw the increase in your posts on google reader and i thought, "i can tell she's supposed to be doing homework because she's blogging!" and i loved it.
Not technically, no. Matching is all about contrast. Navy doesn't go with black. Khaki (which might as well be beige) doesn't go with gray. At least that's what my father, who sold men's suits for 20 years preaches (I'm always shamefaced if I break these rules, even though he won't know). I say if you can justify the contrast, go for it.`
This combination breaks the munchkin rule, but in a weird way. (Munchkin rule: you look like a munchkin when you wear at least two large blocks of bright colors un-broken-up by any surface pattern or other interesting stylistic elements. Yes, I made it up, but I also follow it most of the time.) It's like the munchkin rule, but with a neutral-filter applied.
There may be exceptions for when you look outside and see the exact color combination you are contemplating existent in a natural object, but natural objects very, very seldom suffer from munchkin-ness.
Also, if at least two people tell you you look good, you are good to go no matter what official rules you may be breaking.

I might be a biased source, since a full half of my clothes are some shade of gray, but I say yes.
